This is a personal portfolio, not a product. The terms are short because there isn't much to agree to.
Using this site
You're welcome to browse, read, and share links to anything here. No account, no sign-in, nothing to accept. By using the site you're agreeing to the terms on this page. If you'd rather not, simply don't use it.
The work shown here
The writing, photography, design, and code on this site belong to Charlie Bieger or to the ventures they were made for. That includes the material presented under brsts, Veloro, and CBX Apparel, along with their names and marks.
You may link to it, and quote briefly from it with attribution. Please don't:
Republish the work, in whole or in part, as your own.
Resell it, or use it in commercial material, without written permission.
Take the photography or the text wholesale into a dataset or a product without asking. Search engines and AI assistants are welcome to index this site and to cite it, with a link back.
If you want to use something, just ask. The answer is often yes.
Links to other places
This site links out to the ventures' own sites and occasionally elsewhere. Those are separate. They have their own terms and their own privacy practices, and what happens on them isn't something this site controls or answers for.
The mailing list
Joining the list is not a purchase and creates no obligation on either side. It's infrequent: notes when something new ships. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe, and you can leave at any time without asking.
Analytics
The site counts visits with Google Analytics. In the UK and EU it asks first and loads nothing until you agree; elsewhere it runs by default and you can switch it off in one click. A Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal is taken as a no either way. Nothing here is gated behind accepting, and declining changes nothing about what you can read. The privacy section has the detail and the switch.
No warranty
The site is provided as it is. It's a portfolio: work in progress, occasionally rebuilt, sometimes taken apart. There's no promise that it will be available, accurate, or unchanged tomorrow.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Charlie Bieger isn't liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site or anything you find on it.
Changes
These terms may be revised. The date at the top of the page is always the date of the current version. There's no separate archive, so that line is the honest record.
This site collects almost nothing, and nothing at all until you say yes. There is no advertising, no cross-site tracking, and no profile of you anywhere in it.
What the site itself collects
Nothing, unless you accept analytics. The site uses Google Analytics to count visits: how many people come, which pages they read, roughly where they are, what sort of device they're on. That's the whole purpose: knowing whether any of this is read.
How it asks depends on where you are, because the law does. European rules want permission before an analytics identifier is stored; American ones want plain notice and a real way out. So: in the UK, the EU, the EEA and Switzerland, a small notice appears first and until you choose Accept no Google code is downloaded, no request is made to Google, and nothing is written to your browser. Everywhere else, it runs from the first page view — said here rather than hidden behind a pop-up, and switched off in one click below.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, that counts as a decline, you are never asked, and the signal is re-read on every visit, so switching it on later stops analytics even if you'd accepted before.
If you do accept: Google receives your IP address, the pages you view here, and general device and browser information, and sets identifiers that recognise a returning browser. It acts as a service provider, and its practices are at policies.google.com/privacy. The advertising features of Google Analytics are switched off. Your answer lives in your browser's local storage as ga-consent and nowhere else.
Changing your mind is one click, not a form:

Clearing site data for this domain does the same thing.
There is still no account to create, and nothing here asks for your name.
What happens anyway, and should be said
Two things involve other companies simply because of how the site is delivered:
Typefaces are served by Google Fonts. Your browser fetches them from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, which discloses your IP address and browser details to Google. Nothing else is passed along.
Hosting is on Cloudflare, which handles requests and, like any host, processes standard connection data such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps in order to serve pages and block abuse.
Neither is used to build a picture of who you are, and neither is something this site queries or keeps.
If you join the mailing list
The signup form is the only place the site asks you for anything. If you use it, what's stored is:
Your email address.
The date you signed up and which form you used.
How you got here — the page you signed up from, the site that linked you, any campaign tag on the link you followed, and the country your request came from. It is recorded once, on your first signup, and answers "which of these ventures is worth writing about next" rather than anything about you.
That's the whole record. No name is required, and nothing is inferred, appended, or bought from anywhere else. The list runs on self-hosted software on Cloudflare rather than a third-party marketing platform, so your address isn't sitting in someone else's advertising system.
Emails that get sent
Messages from the list include a small invisible image that records whether and when a message was opened. It's used to gauge whether anything is worth sending at all, not to track you elsewhere. It can't see anything you do outside the email.
Every message carries a one-click unsubscribe. Using it suppresses your address so it won't be mailed again, even if the form is filled in later.
What is never done
Your email address is never sold, rented, or traded. It isn't shared with advertisers or data brokers, and it isn't used to follow you across other sites. It exists to send you the thing you asked for.
Your choices
You can leave the list at any time through the unsubscribe link in any email. You can also write to charlie@charliebieger.com to ask what's held about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted outright. Deletion means deletion: the record is removed, not archived.
Children
This site isn't directed at children under 13, and the mailing list isn't intended for them. If an address belonging to a child has been added, write in and it will be removed.
Changes
If what's described here changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top is updated. Any question about it can go to charlie@charliebieger.com.
