Veloro
A sweater that fits like a suit. Bespoke baby cashmere, knitted in Italy.
Veloro makes one thing well: a cashmere sweater cut to your measurements and knitted in Italy. The yarn is baby cashmere, among the finest fibres spun anywhere, spun high in the Italian Apennines where the mills sit on the mountain rivers and have washed fine fibre in that water for generations. The premise is buy-once: a garment considered enough that you don’t replace it, you keep it.
Most knitwear is sized in bands and worn slightly wrong by almost everyone. Veloro takes the tailoring idea instead: the fit is the product. Each piece is made for the person ordering it, which is why the site talks about commissions rather than stock.
Charlie founded Veloro and built the whole arc of it: the name and the mark, the garment and its specification, the photography, the site and the checkout. The brief was restraint: spend boldness on the fit and the fibre, and keep everything around them quiet.
That shows in how little the brand says. No seasonal drop, no lookbook. A sweater, the yarn it is made from, and the place it is knitted.
Veloro is live and taking commissions at veloro.co. Each client’s order has its own private link for following the piece from measurement to delivery.
